Based in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, WBE Sheet Metal, Inc. specializes in engineering, manufacturing and installing sheet metal and architectural metal products for commercial and residential construction projects. Products include Convector Enclosures, Column Covers, Radiator Covers, Grilles and other Architectural Metal Specialties.
WBE Sheet Metal, Inc. is operated by and employs only Local 28, Sheet Metal Worker’s Union personnel for all its work.
The founder, Rosemarie Gerenia-Friedman, has extensive experience in many areas of the construction trade. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines. She worked for several years in her native country for construction companies specializing in design/build of Government Office Buildings and Local and Intercity Highways.
After immigrating to the US in 1987, Rosemarie worked for a Long Island company manufacturing stainless steel vending carts and custom kiosks for nationwide mall and airport retail locations. Her expertise involved incorporating customer specifications into the custom designs required for the unique site requirements. All the products she designed and oversaw production of required stainless steel sheet metal.
Rosemarie’s next opportunity came as a Design Engineer for the Wenig Company, a 70 year old manufacturer of sheet metal products including Enclosures, Curtain Pockets, Air Conditioning Sleeves and Grilles for commercial construction projects in NY, NJ and CT.
Sheet metal had become the common denominator of her working life. Rosemarie spent over 10 years interfacing with architects, builders, interior design firms and many general contractors and construction managers. Her successes at Wenig Company and encouragement from many people led her to incorporate WBE Sheet Metal, Inc. in 2003.
WBE Sheet Metal, Inc. has worked to complete the new Ambulatory Care Facility at Queens Hospital, the new Frank Gehry designed building for InterActive Corp. and many other projects in and around the Tri-State area.
